By pairing expert instruction with real-world experience via social enterprise & transitional employment opportunities, Pullman Tech Workshop shines a light on the often-overlooked potential of excluded young adults across Chicago.

This partnership is grounded in a shared commitment to community empowerment — ensuring that every individual, regardless of their background, has a pathway to opportunity, stability, and success.

In 2025, our seed investment enabled Pullman Tech Workshop to meet growing demand for women-centered training environments by launching their first-ever all-female handyman and workforce development cohort. Participants gained real-world experience on projects like the Greenstone Church rehab while learning carpentry, tool safety, electrical basics, and digital fabrication.

In 2026, our continued support will allow Pullman to expand these offerings, doubling the number of women trained through new partnerships and customized mentorship pathways. Participants will gain hands-on skills in woodworking and creative tech (including 3D printing and laser cutting), receive wraparound support, and engage in wellness initiatives that foster long-term personal and professional growth. Revenue from Pullman’s growing social enterprise will also help sustain this impact, funding ongoing training and outreach efforts.
